The book chaper “Vers des «bassins de vie» transfrontaliers: Expériences d’intégration fonctionnelle à la frontière entre l’Italie et la France” by Erblin Berisha & Raffaella Coletti has been published in Le traité du Quirinal. Nouveau paradigme pour la coopération transfrontalière franco-italienne, edited by Robert Botteghi, Raffaella Coletti, Anne Rainaud, Giulio Salerno, Gabriella Saputelli, Philippe Weckel; L’Harmattan, 2025.
This volume analyzes cross-border cooperation between France and Italy in light of the Quirinal Treaty, in force since 2023, which strengthens the integration of border territories by establishing a dedicated committee and granting new powers to local authorities.
The study focuses on the Southern Alps, an area characterized by intense flows and local dynamics supported by European programs. Through a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach, it explores in particular the concept of a “cross-border living area,” European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation as governance tools, the initiatives carried out, and the need to involve citizens in building a shared future. Annexes present the tools available to support this dynamic and the concrete actions undertaken in the Southern Alps.
