Our team travelled to the southern part of the Italo-Slovenian border from May 26 to 31, 2024. The Fieldwork report is released.

First hand observations, informal meetings and interactions, and semi-structured interviews with local stakeholders have been organized and performed on-site during the fieldwork mission in Trieste, Carso-Kras region and Gorizia–Nova Gorica–Šempeter-Vrtojba.

The aim was to understand how local communities reacted to the recent polycrisis at stake (as wildfires and floods, Schengen suspension, migratory crisis, economic stagnation, demographic shrinkage, and more) and shed light on coping strategies and synergies activated by alliances of local stakeholders and citizens to provide bottom-up and/or institutional responses. Most of the agenda was left to spontaneous explorations and meeting opportunities, maintaining flexibility and openness.
