First hand observations, informal meetings and interactions, and semi-structured interviews with local stakeholders have been organized and performed on-site during the fieldwork mission in the Puster Valley, a valley which runs between Mühlbach/Rio di Pusteria (South Tyrol, IT) and Lienz (East Tyrol, AT), focusing on the area comprised between Innichen/San Candido (IT) and Sillian (AT).
The aim was to understand how local communities reacted to the recent polycrisis at stake (as overflows, wildfires and tempests, overtourism, demographic shrinkage, and more) and shed light on coping strategies and synergies activated by alliances of local stakeholders and citizens to provide bottom-up and/or institutional responses. Most of the agenda was left to spontaneous explorations and meeting opportunities, maintaining flexibility and openness.
